Backwaters toggin
« on: October 21, 2012, 06:40:20 PM »
Got out 3 times in the past week for some tog.
First day was a hot bite.  No scratchy tapping at the bait.  They were just inhaling the bait.  All fish were in the 14in range.  Next was a steady bite, but a little trickier.  2 fish over the mark and the rest were just short.
Last trip was a little spotty, but still good action.  Most fish were in the 13-14in range.
Becky got out with me on the last trip.  She was very happy to catch her first tog.   msfsh
Countless seabass all three days as well.
All trips were in the last 2 1/2hrs of incoming up to tide change.  Clams and greenies produced equally well.
Time to restock the lead supply  :-\

And after you're done whacking them up, use the belly meat and the meat on the rack to make a tog chowder.

Land based, but I'm 99.9999% sure he is fishing at a spot that is south of the manasquan so you are not allowed to fish there
