Here in union beach we had some real good burst of wind with a steady blow. Luckily no tree damage on my street. The power flickerd a couple of times but never went out. The flood water came in the house not too much but definatley covered my entire bathroom. Could and should of been way worse but aside from minor damage made out ok. Funny side note is there's 8 houses on my street and I've done almost all the roofs on them besides my own and I'm the only one who lost shingles. Also saw that to sail boats from KYC washed up over to the sea wall in cliffwood. No way was the manatee staying on her mouring.
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Went to bed about 2:45am and right after the power went out. Woke up about 7 and hooked up the genny, but had no cable or internet. Winds were worse on the backside of the storm. With power back on about 2pm and the Parkway re-opened, we headed back to Little Egg. No damage at all to our property and water never made it even close to the bulkhead.
Was at the marina yesterday and with a bunch of branches and a few limbs down, no damage to my office or sheds.  ;) ;) Let's get the boats back in clp clp

Sorry to see you guys with such a mess down there.. but thankful losses are limited to property and everyone is safe.. We personally came thru without a hitch..no power loss.. with the house being in a hollow surrounded by hardwood ridges, and built on the highest point of the lot, we are normally spared flooding issues.. but lots of flood damage locally.. some towns to the west along the Esopus and other trout streams where virtually wiped out.. nosmly They pulled my boat out Friday, but I have yet to be able to talk to anyone at Lentze's to get a full report.. but they put up a voice message that all the boats survived, and after some dock repairs they should start re-launches tomorrow.. I'm figuring that the floodgate spared the marina any bad flooding..although it would'nt stop the creek itself from rising behind it..  I've been wanting to get down and see whats up , but with all the reports of flooding/ damage along 36 I figure it was best to wait.. I'm going to try to get down in the next day or 2..  if anyone has been in Keansburg since the storm  that could give me a status report, I'd greatly appreciate it.. Best of luck to everyone on the clean-up and recovery from this biiiotch of a storm.  chrz

Check with your insurance company, they may cover some of that spoiled food. Hopefully you will have power on sooner rather than later.  t^

Just got my power back on here in Toms River(West Dover Section).  Lost power at 9P on Saturday 8/27 and it just went on about 10:30A...132+ hours!

All things considered, the storm wasn't that bad for us.  Some gusty winds, not too much rain, a few tornado warnings.  There were/are a lot of trees down in the neighborhood which took down wires and a couple of poles, some fences and outdoor furniture, but no major damage!

Question if you have solar power and an outage occurs will you still have power?? Just some food for thought.

My wife and I left for vacation Saturday before the storm hit and returned this Saturday night.  I have a large tree limb hanging by a thread in the back yard and some minor water damage in the basement.  My plan was to re-launch and get set back up in my slip in River Plaza Marina.  Not to be, it seems that the Swimming River Reservoir overflowed during the storm and the rush of water took out most of floating docks and poles.  Looks like I will have to keep the boat on the trailer and use the ramp.  I could use the practice  ;).
