MsFish, i just purchased a used mower off Craigslist...might be an option to look for a deal, I got mine for $40 and just use it to trim in close around trees where the tractor wont reach. Its an ancient Lawn Cheif, that still chuggs along well for what i use it for. I would just take someone with you if you go to look at one you find.....saftey first. (anytime i get something on Craigslist, i take a pal with me)  Good Luck  t^
