Title: YSA Fluke Opener 5/28
Post by: wb on May 30, 2017, 08:53:48 AM
Tom, Cooch and I shoved off at Peasoup o' clock and realized we probably were not gonna make the hook today in this fog. I had Cooch on Blowhorn yelling BOOOOOOOOP! real loud every 30 seconds as we slowly headed to the local fluke grounds. Nice drifts, but we were reluctant to shut the engine down as we saw a few guys with more money than brains just bombing thru the low vis and figured we might need those extra few seconds to haul a$$ away from an imminent collision.

No collisions occurred but we did haul in some
healthy early season fluke at 17.75" How do they know? Finally we got a 20 incher which we did not need to flukestrude to make legal.

The fog finally started to dissipate but we knew that meant we were short on time, and so we headed back for cleanup and a sodee or four. Thanks Guys, YSA will be back at it SOON.

Flatfish be frightened: we are coming for you.
