Title: Bad weather hog hunting
Post by: harbison on February 05, 2016, 09:18:36 PM
Just returned from another hog hunting trip at Two Guys & A hog. And already, 'March cannot come soon enough.'          Had a good trip in spite of the February weather...which was absolutely terrible. First we were hit with flooding rains, then high winds, and rapidly dropping temperatures. Regardless, Ralph, the owner of two Guys, did everything possible to make sure we had as good of trip as possible under the next to impossible conditions. Two Guys & A Hog is really back in the sticks. NO problem! Our Limited Edition 2016  Camry got us there easily. Not having to worry about bad roads or seasons (for hog hunting) is a huge plus in working with a reputable outfitter.
Talk about ready for some serious hog hunting. Let's jump on the 'hunters transport' and head for the woods:

Luckily the elevated hunting blind is water tight; it's really raining and turning much colder by the minute. Those two feeders in front of us are extremely active, and, in addition, we have a very good gun rest to balance that 45-70 on:

With a mighty roar my 45-70 dropped a beautiful 175 pound boar:

Sorry!  No pictures...the weather was just too bad. Will be visiting Two Guys again in March. Hopefully the weather will be picture Florida perfect; perfect for both hog pictures &  an action packed video.
Spent the night in the Two Guys cute little bunk house. Believe me! That heat was very much needed and appreciated:

We in the Sunshine (sometimes-anyhow) state have so much to be thankful for. Just think! On private land hog hunting is completely legal 24/7. 'March cannot come soon enough.'

"Bad"   Driving rain, 20 MPH wind, temperatures into the mid forties. And, get this, looks like it's going to be a few days before we hit even 80 again. A few days ago we were running our AC 24/7, and now a heater!
We were hit with a severe 'Arctic Blast!' But we are ready for it:

Guess anything under 50 is like an 'Arctic Blast' to us. In Central Florida we have not had a freeze in over 5 years.
