So I was able to borrow a spinning set up for jigging
The reel is loaded with braided line.
What would be best options for a leader?

pawle , store bought wind-ons are the easiest way to go (Shimano makes them).  If you can tie a bimini twist then you just loop the end of the wind-on to the bimini.

You could use other knots as well.  I use the GT/Sebile knot on a lot of my rigs.  Here's a good video of it below.

If there was more time I would tell you to send me the spool and I would tie it up for you.  I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to learn on the ride out.  Either that or just ask the mate to do it. TT^

Positive fishing karma, winds diminishing, still 4-7, no big deal on this boat, been out with them before in similar conditions. A little bouncy but not too bad. "The 30 second bimini" is a great knot and very strong when tied properly. Have used on plenty of jigs this year w/o fail.

Sorry, your forecast updated quicker than mine...I get raw data straight from the NWS FTP servers. The forecast you posted was the same as the forecast to 20nm before the update. 20nm and east was showing 4-7 feet still. My data did not update rgmn. Inshore to 20nm has come down to around 2-3 feet, down from the 3-5 feet earlier today.

THis is a good thing, the seas did come down a few feet. BW is saying closer to 4 feet at Hudson Canyon, as opposed to 3-6 feet by the NWS. This is much better than 4-7. Saturday Afternoon is going to be the worst of both days...

Hey guys, I will bring the Keurig again and some jugs of water for it.  Im guessing like 6 gallons?  Does anyone have K cups?  If not I can grab some.  Let me know if there's anything else I can bring.  I'm unfortunately not able to get on this site often since work blocked it so if someone could text me that would be great!  908-601-5798

Until you have to pee. Which at your age is every 12 minutes ;D
Its better to sit in a boat and think about God, than to sit in a church and think about fishing.

Looks like the weather isn't going to stop us.
If I hear different I will post it.

Try to be at the boat around 2:30 so we can leave at 3:00

If something happens please text me at 973-214-3019 to let us you are going to be late so we don't leave without you.
