Title: YSA Striper in the Bay 5/7
Post by: wb on May 08, 2017, 04:31:53 PM
Had low expectations as we shoved off at 0615. We were not disappointed. The water was mucked up, as expected, but the forecast 15-20 with 2-3 footers thankfully was a bit off. Twas a tad snotty over on OOS battling wind and tide, so we moved up by Mt. Loretto, then over the Roundest Shoal there is, where we picked up a fighter on a Stretch in 15 feet. Used our best judgement and made a quick clean release before any fish huggers could complain about killin breeders.

Back for a sodee and Baseball with the kids by 1100. Thanks Tom!

Tried out the handheld VHF and was able to discern it was transmitting (thanks Eddie) but could not hear very well, probably due to crappy handheld antenna. Oh well it is what it is. Go gettem.
