Title: trim gauge
Post by: Reel Time on August 11, 2008, 12:02:49 PM
for some reason this weekend my gauge isnt reading the trim properly. it started out only reading upto 2 on the scale, and by the time we got back it would go upto 2.5.

trim is working fine, its just not showing it on the meter.

'06 f150, stock yama gauges,, just wondering if there is a simple fix, before i call the shop,, either way im sure it will be under warranty,, got another 6 years onit t^

The first thing I would do is to clean all the contacts on the gauge and the sending unit.  A lot of times the corrosion will be enough to give you the wrong resistance reading at the gauge itself.

It is a simple thing to so before going to a shop.

Check the sender on the tilt and trim unit. Its on the starboard side of the transom bracket. They hang up all the time. Spray with Corrosion X and keep moving it by hand. Capt.Matt
