FNG here
« on: January 17, 2010, 02:49:40 PM »
Greetings all. I used to fish 30 yrs ago when I was a young lad on LI. 30 yrs later I don't remember anything and find myself starting over. I am retiring soon and will try to get back into fishing.........again. Not sure where to start, but I'm sure with the help of this site, I will be sucessfully fishing in no time. I bought an 18' Boston Whaler Outrage that I plan to spend a lot of time on. Thanks for a great site.  chrz

What area would you be fishig? Let us know where you will be fishing and what you want to target and I am sure you will get enough info to get you thru the winter doldrums.

Oh yea, welcome to the site.  t^

Thanks guys, I plan on fishing the Hudson out to either the LI sound or east of Verazanno bridge. Not sure how far out I will go, depends on weather, confidence/experience.

Welcome back to fishing.

I used to fish the Hudson a lot but not in a few years.

Always started he season around the Tappan Zee on the NJ trout opener. Lots of small fish on sandworms.

NY harbor can't be beat in May.
