Title: screen resolution

 On a fish finder is 320Vx240H good? I know the higher the better. On a 5" screen how fine do you need it?  grtn

Mine is a Lowrance LMS 527c with 480V x 480H . Modest price and does a great job, picture is great. Of course I would love a 10in + screen, but like I said, for the price, it works for me. <'((((><

That's basically the resolution of the GPSMAP498 I have, and probably many other Garmins out there with the 5" diag screen. It's adequate but not excellent. I like to split screen with chart / sounder simultaneously. Naturally a bigger screen would make a world of difference there, but it does work, and pretty well for the money. I bought it used and got 3yrs out of it so far, no problems.
