Wondering what others might think a Sea Boss 210cc w/ 175hp Johnson would cruise at, what WOT would be and how many GPH she would burn at cruise w/ full tank and 2-3 people on board.
No trim tabs.
-
Wide open I say rough around 28- 33mph dependeing on how you trim the motor.. fuel consumption varies a little.. I don't have a 2stroke so I can't help on that one.. My 4 stroke burns about 11-13 gallons a trip but I run a lot 40- 50 miles on the bay searching for fish..

mine burned 13 gallons going 40 mph from my ramp to the hook and back {45 miles} .we had 90 gallons of fuel and 2 men onboard ,if I take it down to 30 mph I burn a little more than half that .I saw your boat today very nice looking ,I didnt have time to climb around on it but she looked pretty from where I was standing
-
Thaks Catfsih.
45 miles? Where is your ramp?
I believe the boat should cruise @ 30 and do low 40's WOT.
What motor do you have on yours Charlie?
I will be happy with a 30mph cruise and burning 5-6gph :)
-
I launch out of edison ,the boat had a 150 optimax on it and moved on the water if I was by myself w/ a half tank I pushed almost 50 mph you should fly w/ the moter thats on there
-
Yes, I figures she should move pretty good, but will do that only when needed. I am used to a 24mph cruise on my old mans boat so 30 is plennty fast for me.
I guess I am going to burn a good chunk of oil too.
Well, if you got to see the boat on land today, that means they didn't detail or bottom paint yet and I ain't gettin' my survey done tomorrow :(
-
3rd boat in from the road ,3 permit stickers on the trailer ,if so it is still there
-
It was the 2nd last week, but they could have added another and was the only Sea Boss at the time.
Light blue bottom paint?
If so, they didn't paint her yet :(
Bummer.
Did you bring yours home?
-
I would call them ,we are talking about differant boats ,did it have a bimini on it ,I get my new one by thursday next week
-
Yes, dark blue bimin (that was down when I looked at it and I believe was on blocks and not trailer, so maybe it is.
calling now.
-
Must still be there, but said they will paint her tonight and get her done for survey tomorrow ;)
Yipeeee.
-
gotta say they are good there ,Joe is a great guy and takes care of his customers ,best of luck tommorow

never delt w/ them just lj ,what happened

Things they have told me so far have not been true.
Told me they got all the stuff from previopus owner that was missing (bow cooler with cushion, ALL the Electronics), saying they were going to detail the boat, but only did the hull ad now say they won't do the top (didn't even rinse the deck or gunwales), saying it would be luanched at Mansquan river club to save me 40mn on my trip, but now will be at LJ's. Have it on purchase order that CG package included (which should at least be life jackets, flares, etc) and when I mention it or anything else, tells me he will give me my deposit check back if I ask about anything again (even tho he cashed it when he told me he was not).
Problem is, after I signed the deal, he probably thought about it and didn't want to do it anymore.
I will probably get my lawyer involved (now that I paid for survey and he promised me things (some written others advertised) that aren't there.
My lawyere services are free, so won't cost me a thing. Wonder what their lawyaer charges them
I def want the boat, but have not been treated well since I left the marina the 1st day.
-
Will see hopw it goes this week and when I go down to close boat and take home next Sunday (weather permitting).
I believe joe is this guys partner.
Late 50's, early 60's guy, grey hair?
My guy keeps telling me he has tried calling former owner, but was Joes customer, not sure what boat has, tells me now that the deal is "as is" (which it never was).
Even the stern running light wasn't on the boat and when I ask about that he will threaten to give my deposit back.
-
Hi Mboy,
I know you love the boat but it is a BUYERs market.
If he threatens you ... Walk. I know Joe Merino - not sure how he is involved.
A boat needs to be safe and seaworthy when you purchase it. If you cannot pass a basic USCG VSC (including life preservers, flares, and running lights) and you discussed it in advance, this is bad faith.
I see that you have a family member/friend as an attorney. I enjoy that with my brother as well. Have him/her call them. That will change this idiots tune.
Good luck,
Capt. Ed

Thanks Ed. I appreciate the advice.
