Even though I do not have a boat anymore I was thinking about retaking a course so I can keep my endorsement on my DL.

From what I understand, that endorsement means nothing anymore. I recently talked to someone who renewed there DL and it was removed from there license. No matter where you boat in NJ, fresh or salt, you have to have a Boaters Safety Certificate. I have not verified this personally,
but it seems to make $ense. Matt

The endorsement on your driver's license is so you can operate a boat on non-tidal waters in the State of New Jersey (lakes, ponds, rivers past the tidal line, etc.).

You do need the boater's safety certificate in order to get the boating endorsement on your driver's license.

The endorsement and the certificate are two seperate things.

You need the certificate to operate a boat in ANY water in the State of New Jersey. You do not need the endorsement to operate on tidal waters.

No motors allowed on Prospertown Lake.

You will have to row, row, row, your boat! ;D

That stinks...although, it is not a huge lake!  You just have to make sure you invite someone on your boat that day have them row ;D!

I have a 10' Duranautic jon boat.  I have been fishing Prospertowm for years.  I worked out at Great Adventure from 1980 to 1986 and fished out there quite often.  I know all about the motor thing.

I have fished all the back lakes on their property as well.  Some fantastic bass ponds back there.  I used all ultra-lite and had a ball.  I will have to get over there this summer and become reaquanted with some new structure that I am sure has filtered into the lake.

Does anyone have a copy of the certificate the Power Squadron was using in the 70s to evidence completion of the Safe Boating course?

If so, please scan and email to me. I have Photoshop up and waiting...

Does anyone know when safety classes start up?  I have my boating license but I need to take the safety course again.

Yeah that is some good fishing back their Paul.  Are the Great Adventure Lakes connected to Prospertown at all?  It is hard to tell on the maps.

Hi P-man, yes there are 2 or 3 that are connected by spill ways and there are others that are connected to those as well.  My best time fishing there was when the park was closed for the season.  I was in security for those years and had run of the whole property.  It was great back then.
