Title: Got the itch.........but delayed
Post by: Nauty Angler on March 17, 2009, 12:37:37 PM
I've had the itch and have been scratching..... but.....Planning to drop boat early April....needs bottom paint and sea water pump replacement which added time to launch.

Any locations producing bass that I can reach on foot through launch time?

wait for April and use the boat.  It will be more productive.

Welcome Aboard Nauty Angler,

If you want to come a little south the Mantaloking bridge area has been picking up a few bass this time of year all on either blood worms or sand worms with the sand worms being the bigger producer right now.  Try the Gulp or the Fishbite brands.  I am going to try the back of IBSP tomorrow again his time with blood worms and a bobber and just let it drift a bit.  It should be interesting as I will be also using a 2/0 light circle hook by Owner.

The water in the back bays range from 37 to very close to 50 d3egrees already.  If you can locate a pocket of warm water your in.

The power plant I heard has been a non producer lately as the fluctuation of the water temp has been to great one day its warm and the next it is cold the plant is not putting out a steady flow of warm water at this time.

I hope this helps

Happy Catching

Paul
