Title: Mate Duties/Responsibilities?

 grtn  Ahoy Maties!  What are your thoughts and/or ideas concerning "Mate" duties/responsibilities for every charter  ??? ... What do Captain's require of their Mate?  What do guests expect from the mate? ... Before every charter? ... During every charter? ... After every charter?

Thinking out loud:

Mate is responsible for not drinking more alcohol than the guests.

Mate is responsible for not throwing the guests over board.

Mate is responsible for not dating the Captain's wife.

K, all you professional Mate's, now's your time to shine and earn that pay raise, let the Captain's know how hard you work and how much you do, do.  Share with the people who are guests on charters what all your duties and responsibilites are.   slt

I'm educable, trainable and still a student learning Mate.

Mate is responsible for putting the fish in the water under the boat for the guests to catch  rofla

My Mate just sits on the rail and smiles at the clients....they seem happy with that cfzd hhppy


But seriously, the Mate(s) can make or break a boat/trip...they do the most work for the least credit. A good mate is worth his/her weight in gold.............. slt
