Title: Match the Size of the Bait
Post by: Capt. Ed on February 16, 2007, 02:33:43 AM
Hi All,

It is often asked how one goes about "choosing the right color" for their artificials and teasers.

From many years on the water and talking to many industry folks, it is generally agreed that it is much more important to match the size of the baitfish that fish are feeding on rather than the color!

Have fun,

Capt. Ed

If I am in the surf and see sand eels around I like to go to something long and slim ,if the mulet and peanut run is going I want something w/ a little girth the same lenth as the baitfish, also it is good to know what bait is around at the time of year you are fishing

Match the hatch! Your bait needs to match what the fish are feeding on. Too big too small wrong shape they probably won't take a second look. Could not agree more.
