Well, thank you Bucktail. If I lived where you live..... I would be in Barnegat Light for blackfish. Seems stripers are kind of a hit or miss.
I shant post my opinions about the winter flounder fishery. Some folks pay to be on here and run boats for this fishery.
Good luck to all on Friday. Looks like a gorgeous day.

You can say it. The flounder reports have been awful! :P I am supposed to have off Monday. So I might wait. Maybe after the warm, dry weekend we're supposed to have it will finally turn on. t^

Good luck. Looking forward to the report!

Ok, my friend , you asked for it.
If someone wants you to pay for a winter flounder trip, they are stealing your money. The Winter Flounder fishery is over. The fish are not there and won't be there. Shut it down for some years and maybe it will come back. Winter Flounder is so close to the Whitting fishery, its scarey. And I know folks don't want to hear it. But its the truth.
I think you saw your last opening for winter flounder for some time. If you fished it and caught one short and nothing else, I hope you enjoyed yourself. When there is no opener for winter flounder next year, go mid range. They are fun. Or offshore, they are terrific. Or go for trout.
I did not mean to offend.
Be good!

I agree WF fishing is very spotty and takes a lot of effort for not much reward but I think a lot of people go just to clear the cobwebs of winter.

Good luck Friday Jim. t^
