went down to Barnegat today, lot of dead crabs in the water, pots comming up with 2=3 keepers and very few mostly small in the flats, how is it in raritan bay?
-
Where in the Barnegat were you? I have only heard of great catches by boat and pot(bushels plus) and the from shore crabbers have been doing well also. I wonder what changed and caused them to die and the catches to drop off?
The Navesink has been doing really well. If you put in your time, the crabs are there and all good quality jimmies.

Try between the 2 bridges...just south of the 36 Bridge has been producing well on the outgoing if you can.
Good luck!

Gonna be sneaking down this Friday with kids, anyone tried the Mantoloking Pier they have now and is it free?? Otherwise will be trekking to those piers by Seaside!! ???
-
I have not been crabbing this year at all but I do know the Mantalokin Pier is free as are the piers on both side of the Rt 37. The 2 north piers and the south pier by the Dock Outfitters are free as well.
Happy Catching
Paul

Thanks Paul, have a friend in Manasquan who offered a big pot to boil them so may do the mantaloking pier and see how we fare, will report back Saturday on what went on!
