Title: What is up with Channel 65?
Post by: Capt. Ed on June 12, 2007, 08:07:39 PM
Hi Guys,

I have run up and down the coast and noticed that Channel 65 seems to have a transmitter "stuck" on it. DO you guys hear noise on it and have trouble "squelching it"?

I have a new unit on the boat and I also notice it on another boat and a handheld VHF.

Is it just me?

Thanks,

Capt. Ed

Sounds like a transmitter Hunt :D  Any one up for it?  Or should we wait till it burs up the finals.  i bet it is a weekender who forgot to turn off his radio and now it is stuck in Xmit mode.

What area is the signal the strongest?  I am up for looking for it, I guess it is a ham thing...

Just checked and ch 65 is for port operations (supposed to be but who knows).

I will have to tune the frequency into my mobile tomorrow and have fun looking for it if it is still xmitting.

For those who have scanners the freq. is 156.275 vhf...
