Title: rod cleaner

I was just lining up some gear for this weekends overnight trip and noticed my tsunami rod has lost it's new rod shine compared to my 2 new rods when sitting side by side. anybody use a cleaner and polish they like?

There might be something wrong with the coating the batch might have the wrong ratio and the sun took its toll. Give them a call they are up in Mahwa, NJ they should give you the answer you are looking for. Maybe even a new rod out of it. ???

paul, i'll have to give it a good cleaning and see how much f the luster can be restored compared to my new rods. no matter what i'm fishing for this combo always comes out tsunami magnum series with a penn torgue 200.

Nice combo. I just bought a small combo today for plugging off the beach it is a Pro Angler 8' M - MH rod for 1/2 - 2 oz lures with a Okuma Avenger AV-50 reel filled with 150 yrds of 20# mono backing and 150 yrds of 30# Power Pro.

Looking forward to trying it out. If the weather would cooperate I hate getting out on the sand and getting caught in a nasty storm. Been there done that its no fun.

Post by: hareball on June 13, 2007, 12:19:23 AM: hope you enjoy the combo as much as I do mine! that tsunami rod is awesome. if you saw the drum pics that capt john posted that rod has some great action and that torgue reel is a beast! casting lures makes you feel like your throwing with a bionic am...I never knew 4 ounces could go so far. TT^

Post by: Skolmann on June 13, 2007, 03:16:29 PM: Nothing beats Armour-All wipes for keeping your fishing rod nice and clean. It removes salt deposits, scales and other grime. I usually give my rods a cleaning with them every 2nd or 3rd trip out.

BTW, I used to use car wax on my rods over the winter but with over 40 rods it became too labor intense. I stick with the Armour-All wipes now.

Not sure what the difference is between the cleaning & protectant wipes...but I just checked which I use and its the protectant.
