Hey guys...what type of boats do you have for your type of fishing? I'm curious as to what would be the minimum size boat you would take out in the bay's for fluke or just any other fish for that matter also?
Thanks!

Damn....I knew I should have bought the 16 ft deep V over the 14ft 6in Deep V. The 16 ft is more versatile and can be used for fresh water as well as salt water.

where are you looking to fish ,what bay is close to you

Good question....coming from north Jersey..I guess the closest place to launch would be Sandy Hook. What would you recommend?
-
on weekdays you are fine just know how to operate the boat ,go on calm days,I would launch out of keport and try the back first ,most boaters are courteous to smaller boats ,give it a try ,I see yaks out there all the time

I guess the weekends get busy...but it's worth a try. Thanks Catfish!

some times but if you stay away from there paths your fine go on a weekday to find out if your boat will handle it,I have been out in my 12 ft. and in my canoe so you can fish a 14

I have a '94 Sea Nymph 14.6 deep V with the USCG neccessities, lights, bilge, livewell, etc. I think that would be a good idea to check it out during a weekday and see how the boat handles.
Good advice and thanks again.

That's good to know. I was worried that it wouldn't be enough.
Nonetheless...I will be saving my pennies for a larger boat with a center console, hopefully next year.

I am new to salt water fishing in general. That would be great to meet up some day and learn the bay a little.

Hey you may want to try shark river also!! great for fluke with a smaller boat. Fished it for years with the rentals, then with a 14ft, 9.9hp had a blast on fluke and sometimes cocktail blue and schoolie stripers near the ocean ave draw bridge..Ps weekedays are the best.

Finally got to use my little Jon boat. Rowing is coming to my fat body easier then I thought. I like fishing out of that little thing. In the future I want to get something that I can stand up on.
