Hi Rod,
Well, to throw more stuff at you ...
I have trusted info that there are "acres and acres" of bunker north of Cape May and were headed north.
No one can predict the speed or if they will continue north (but high probability they will) you may have a feeding frenzy in your area this weekend of blues and stripers.
My favorite thing to do, when bunker are in the area getting nailed for a few days, is to drop down to fish for fluke.
Here is your choices (and why I had you buy the gear you did):
1. If bunker make it up to your area, blues and stripers.
2. If we don't have confirmation, plan to sea bass on the LE Reef (use Pro Cut squid - that is squid soaked in bunker or crab oil).
3. Fluke the shallows in 20-35 ft. of water. Have some A47s or snag rigs at the ready if you run into the bunker. Use spearing/squid.
4. Anchor up and work on the tan and drink some beverages of your choice.
I opt for: 3, 2, and 1. I never waste gas on 4 with the boat.
Good luck,
Ed
