Title: Park is Closed !!!!
Post by: ped579 on November 12, 2009, 04:05:09 PM
Because of the high winds out of the NE the tides will be pounding the beaches and the dunes pretty hard.  What will happen is once the park is open it will only be open during periods of low tide till the sand is re deposited again that will allow veh's the ability to pass at high tide.

Your best bet is to call the office at 732-793-0506 and find out before making a drive out there.

Good Luck

Paul

It will get worse as the blow continues.  I am sure this will have the local Emergency Managers out late tonight and there might be some evacuations as well.  Not a fun time for them.  I remember it all to well, I would rather be inside nice and warm.

No surprise on the park closing.  I'm sure it will be that way most of the weekend.
I don't even want to see how bad the beach gets beat up after this one.  nosmly

Was just over in Seaside heights to check out the storm. Sand was coming over the dunes and covering the streets and sidwalks pretty good. Looked like snow drifts. Not alot of water but windy as all hell and sandy!
