Been fishing for past two hours slow pick. Bait still fairluy thick but fish seemed to move out. Skunk going 4 for 5 and just boated 25+ lber. Good quality fish. The others were short. I'm striking out. Bluefish bite off. Rather snotty out right about now. Pics later tonight.

Well we finished up at 4:30. It got cranky out there. Moved away from the SH Channel and worked 28-32ft water nearer toward the Ambrose in Jersey water still between channels. Bait seemed to be better concentrated with more fish laying up on them. Switched over from plastic and metal to live eels. Skunk worked a 10.5" self rigged fin'nes split tail eel when his roque rod bent in half and line was screaming. He horsed a real nice fish measuring 38" and weighed just a tad over 25lb. At 4:15, I said we had another 15 and we'd get out of dodge. No sooner both of us doubled over the rods on live eels. Both of us had high hopes we'd be squabbling about who would have to get the net only to see doggies on the end of both lines.
Final count for the 3.5hrs Skunk 3 bass 1 doggie and I had 2 dogs. Nice way to bring closure to the season. There may be one more trip if weather holds up.
