Title: Recreational Resident Shellfish License

I sent for my Senior Resident shellfish license, what I would like to know is it mandatory for all who wish to crab in Jersey waters to get one? I crab alot by Berkley Island and there's many an out of stater visiting Grandpa that crab there will they need a license?  5hrug Thoughts please.

I may be wrong but I dont think you need the shell fish license for crab ,I belive thats for clams. Also if you use a commercial pot ( no more than 2 Maryland style ) you'll need a recreational crab license the pots need tags. And there are added restrictions Depending on where your crabbing with them.(terapin excluder ring )

Yeah, so far, crabbing is still free.  Only exception to this is crab pots.  Give it time though... rgmn

Shellfish license is for clams, etc...
