Title: Adding rFuseblock, busbar-Boat wiring

My Sea Boss has one of the circuit breaker panels in the console for all the power hook ups. I hate it.

I would like to add something so that I can hook up additional power to (like am/fm radio, etc).

What would I need? A Fuseblock, busba, or something else?

Is it ias easy as using a tap into the + line from battery that feeds the circuit breaker?
Tap just before circuit breaker?

I def need an easy, reliable solution to adding electrical components like radio, etc.

My VHF is hooked up to the circuit breaker and it kept cutting out this weeked, so would relocate that to the new block also.

Any tips or links to what I would need (water proof or resistant-something that will last, but be reasonably priced would be greatly apreciated.

A busbar is probably a good way to go. I would run a set of wires back to either a battery or your battery switch to power it.  Dont forget to put a heavy enough fuse for what you plan on powering on the line as well.

Thanks, I actually opted for a very nice Blue Seas fuseblock.
Plan on running wires back from battery to helm (that should be interesting-need fishing tool I imagine?).

Then will run my VHF, AM/FM, etc off of that.

Also bought some Blue Sea Circuit breakers to replace the ones on my current panel. They look a little corroded.

Just kidding, actually, I kind of Do.

I do not think the stock wiring from battery to main circuit breaker panel is any larger then 12-14g and that is powering the ENTRIE boat right now.

I think I will be fine with 10-12g for am/fm, VHF, Sat receiver from car and trim tabs afer the season. I hope so anyway :)

   Once you get things the way you want them, spray the works down with something like Boeshield or other anti corrosive spray to stop wires from becoming corroded. You can also use that black liquid electrical tape stuff which probably works best but is messy.

Thanks Buddah. I will be spraying al my conections with some Corrosion block when it arrives (ordered last week, but was back ordered).
