Title: Navionics FISH'N'CHIP detailed charts
Post by: Hunter 2 on April 07, 2010, 09:26:14 AM
I was checking out these new additions for the gps on U-Tube and the navionics websight and was considering getting the N.east chip.
Does anyone have any knowledge on these new charts?   The price tag is around $190.00

I have the 'fish n chips' chart for my Raymarine. It was a freebee with the purchase of the unit. I gives great detail to the bottom contours. Don't really know that I would pay $190 for it.

I can show it to you next time you are on my boat before you make a decision to purchase if that would help you.  t^

I've got the older version, 2 years old. Used it once to see what it was like, nothing special, I guess thats why they gave it to me for free with the origional navionics charts. New version just released has additional bottom details, you can see the same stuff on a $20 chart.  <'((((><

I agree with Joe.  Got mine free when I bought the chart chip as well.  Use it quite a bit for bottom contours but not worth $190 unless they have added something special to it.  The fishn'chip shows little detail of the inlets and land but most of the summer I just left it in the machine since I am always in and out the same inlet.

I got the platinum one for my Raymarine.  I will let you know how I like it after this weekend.
