Title: helpful table for boaters who frequently cross the NY/NY border
Post by: Andys Delight on April 14, 2010, 06:15:18 PM
I learned this trick from an old buddy of mine.  For those that regularly go back and forth over the NJ/NY border, attached is a chart that takes the conservative minimums on size, limit, and season period.  Following these guidelines will ensure you are within the legal limits on both sides at all times.  I added far more species than I generally target hoping to help some of you as well.

For example, the NY Fluke guideline is 2 fish at a minimum of 21" each from May 15th-Sep 6th.  NJ is 6 fish at a minimum of 18" from May 29th-Sep 6th.  If you combine the absolute minimum you would need to always have no more than 2 total at 21" minimum (NY's regs) within the dates of May 29th-Sep 6th (NJ's regs).

Obviously if you are solely staying on one side of the border, follow that state's guidelines.

Good system.

It seems that we need a score card to keep up with all the regs.  nosmly
