I avoid Following the trout stocking tank truck to the lakes here in PA . I like to wait awhile until they acclimate themselves to the new environment. They then become more of a challenge to catch using spinners and spoons rather than using corn as bait. Trolling spinners and spoons and drifting in a light wind with live bait produce some healthy size trout that have escaped the onslaught of the tank truck followers, trout that hopefully have been in those waters for more than 1 season. And aren't as mushy to the touch as their newly stocked brothers. I'm not knocking first day stocker fishermen, just saying the way I like to fish ;D

Butch I stopped following the stocking tank truck when I was ten years old,as kids we hung out on summer days along the Raritan River which ran through the pastures of a local farm.we would spend our days swimming and fishing in the river.one day riding our bikes thru the pasture with fishing poles in hand,we spot the tank truck and friend hollars stocking truck and we start peddaling our rear ends off to catch up to it and all of sudden it stops and a guy gets out and takes a big hose off the tank truck and starts spraying s---t all over the pasture. nosmly again the reason I stopped following stocking tank trucks, true story ;D Kez

Your life isn't changed by the fact i was fishing a stocked stream, so I dont know why you put it down. This "tan truck follower" has quite a catalog of ducument catches of a lot species on that website, I do alright for a hack i suppose

I was responding to your post, giving my opinion as to the way I like to fish and not an opinion to the way I think You should fish. I explained that in the last sentence of my reply. This forum ( in my thinking ) is about sharing ideas and opinions about the one thing we all have in common. If my opinion might vary from yours, so be it. I'll live to fish another day and so will you, God Willing t^ chrz

Nice Video, I havent caught a shad yet. Those are some nice browns, no rainbows ? Bet those were good smoked. Was fishing about 2 weeks ago, drifting a fat head from shore, had about a 4-5? pound breeder rainbow on, snapped by 6 pound test. Nice Job chrz
