Does anyone know how long the tip of Sandy Hook is blocked off on the right side from that path ? Everyone on that side was told to leave the side yesterday because of the endangered species, those dam birds. I never remember this going on last year but then again I didnt fish sandy hook as much last year or previous to that. I am thinking of going back Saturday but I dont want that side to be shut down again. Maybe there is a number I can call to talk to someone who works for Sandy Hook Park Ranger Station maybe? Thanks guys for the info. ;)

I was told by the ranger that it would not be open until september. I posted a couple times about the beach being closed where your talking about. Go figure, since thats the best spot for fluking

Yeah man I know. My opinion is that, that is the best area off the tip to fish for fluke. I went to the left more towards the bay. I caught tons of sea robins and a FEW small fluke, then my father and his freind caught 2 keepers towards the end. Its to rocky and theres to much seaweed. Dam birds i tell ya. I have to find a new spot to fish for fluke, maybe even a different shore. I was thinking of taking a ride to Pt pleasant and maybe fishing by the inlet or a jetty or something. Time to find a new spot :-\
For now at least
