I called my long time friend Biagio last night and invited him to go fishing for brownies. He informed me that he had never fished for them. Met him at the dock this morning looked like we had the whole lake to ourselves. 3 knot wind giving us a good drift. Had some shiners and fatheads for bait. started marking fish at 24 ft. the bite was slow with about 4 hits in 2 hours with nothing in the boat. I noticed the hits were cutting into the shiners mostly in the bottom area. I said lets try dropping our bait to 40 ft. nothing doing so, we tried 32 ft and hit pay dirt. Still marking fish a 24 ft. Biagio got the first and largest fiah of the day. Congrats BIA on your first Brownie and limiting out for the day. chrz chrz

My Nephew has been bragging to me about the brown trout he has been catching up there for about 2 weeks. Nice job t^

Nice looking trout. Where is this lake? Never heard of it.

North and west of Wilkes-Barre,It's the largest natural glacier lake contained entirely in PA. That doesn't mean it's real big. The Pau Pak in the Poconos is much larger but man made. Harveys is 95 ft at it's deepest point although, folk lore has it that, there are bottomless caverns . There have been some brown trout taken out of here up to 12 lbs. My personal best is just under 6. Back in the day it was a great Ice fishing lake for smelts but, no longer

Butch,Good day of fishing and congrats to Biago on his first brown and limiting out t^ what is the limit on the lake? Kez

Kez, Limit is only 3 per person on this lake because of the fact it is a PA approved trout waters lake and has an open season just about the whole year and is closed down for all fishing from April 1st to open day of trout. If you want to take the trip sometime I have one of my boats docked there and we'll have at it. Bring the beer chrz
