up in Raritan Bay, i start trying for porgies in mid August or so. some of the better known spots in the bay are Belford Channel, 1 can off the Bug light and a few spots on the Knoll can be productive. While clams are effective, when i target them, i find Sand worms and Blood worms hard to beat sometimes. a small 1/0 or 2/0 baitholder set up on a hi-lo rig works well. Drifting is more effective this time of year as i cover more ground and am also Fluking at the same time.
