In the latter part of October I believe 23, 24, 25 the National Casting Championships will be held in Marlton, NJ. When I find out the exact date and location I will post it.
These guys are fantastic. A friend will be in it this year his average cast is in the 600' range. He is 67 years young and can really haul lead. If you ever watched these guys it is amazing to watch as they cast and then fine tune the reel as the lead is in the air. The average cast last 8 seconds, that is a long time when you think how fast the line is peeling off the reel.
Here is a video of just how they tune in the reels as the line is flying off the spool.
Enjoy.

Great video Paul. t^ I think I'm gonna try and make it down there to check that out this year. I'd be sweet to see them guys in action......Maybe learn a thing or 2 about distance casting.

This friend that will be in it this year is 67 years young and there is a gentleman that is 80. If you want to get some good pointers I was told to try and get to the Friday practice session. That is where all the guys love to give out tips on casting techniques.
