Title: Salting bait

i thinks its just the case of soaking them in a tub of water and salt.. ?

use kosher salt.  No Iodine.

Kosher salt all the way.  Like Nick said no iodine.  I have used it for years to salt clams and it works great.

If your netting or trapping your own bait, I put them right into a brine of KosherSalt, Seawater, and Ice. I use a Playmate cooler for that. Then when I get home spread out a bunch of newspaper, drain your bait then spread them on to the newspaper coat them well with kosher salt Don't skimp on the salt then package in sandwich bags. I have done spearing this way and they stay on the hook well and look great come  spring time  t^
