Title: Lake Ontario Report 9/11 – 9/12
Post by: Still Running on September 13, 2010, 02:22:07 PM
We fished the east end of the lake and the estuary of the Salmon River this weekend. We were able to mark fish in the lake all sitting on the bottom. The fish were showing up from 30 FOW out to around 150 FOW. We could not get a fish to hit and the only good thing is no one else could get a hit. The talk on the radio was the water temp on the bottom was as warm as the surface. The water coming out of the river was about 8 degrees cooler and we did see and catch fish in the river. Took a ride up to the hatchery to take a look around and we did see some fish, but nothing like it should be. Seems like this year the lake is much warmer this year and the majority of the fish are still in the lake. A few days of good rain or good blow to bring the colder water in should get this years Salmon run into gear. Will give it another try this weekend.
