Title: Anyone pour Spro Jigs? Need some hook help
Post by: Still Running on December 04, 2010, 06:51:23 PM: I pour my own jigs up to 8 oz. I use the Ultra Minnow Jig Molds and the Mustad 91715D size 8/0 big game jig hooks as per the molds. I don't like the hook size on the smaller jigs. Anyone tried to use a smaller hook?

As far as hook size I have used smaller than the 8/0s and they worked just fine in the molds.

For the smaller say 3oz and smaller Ultra Minnow Jig Molds Ive been using the Gamakatsu in the 7/0 size with pretty good success...You may have to modify the eye location but that's about it.

I couldn't find the site where I got them last...the 7/0 is hard to find...last time I needed them I emailed Gamakatsu and they forwarded me a sight that had that size...I bought 2 packs of 50 each...
