went to the valley for some flat lining.we fished rapalas in 8-12ft of water 200ft behind the boat on powerpro.we were trolling 2.3mph.they were short striking,we landed 4 of the 12 hits we had.2 browns 17 & 19 inches and 2 rainbows 15 & 17inches.in the last week 3 trophy trout were landed there from 4 - 6 lbs.they had tags from our trophy trout program, stocked last year.i will be doing a seminar on wire line laker fishing round valley at the edison sports show raritan center at 12 sun. 1/16/11 many of the past state record lakers were taken this way.

HI IrishAyes,i will be talking about using wire line to fish lake trout.its a deadly method to take large lake trout in 70-90ft.draging spoons on the bottom.we have found that lakers like to follow the spoons when on the downriggers.with the wire we can jig the spoons to trigger a strike, this is deadly on the larger fish say 15-30lbs.most of the former laker records in the valley were taken this way.i am a e-board member of rvta and run the tournaments there.i also have a scientific data permit and collect stomach contents from hook and line caught fish that are being used in a fish and game study.
