Anybody know what kind of reel this is? I am thinking possibley a Mitchell? It was used by my wife's grandfather in his old wooden Luhnrs trolling for bluefish..... Says Made In France and nothing else. There is an indentation wher the name plate fell out of. 4" wide 3" diameter. I am sure some of the old salts on here may be able to ID this oldie but goodie.

The only place that reel will see action is sitting on my shelf. It has to be 30 years old I would guess.
Or maybe I will rebulid it with all Accurate hardware.....on second thought, maybe I will just keep it retired!

It appears to be a Garcia Mitchell.
Used in the 70s and early 80s.
Inshore fluking,blues and sea bass.
Clean it up and shelf it,in that shape worth more for the memo.
I have one in excellant shape:on the shelf.

Definitely a Garcia Mitchell from the 70s. My brother-in-law has that same reel. I cleaned it for him a couple years back and he still uses it for stripers and blues. Great old reel. t^
