Hi Catfish,
Now you are talking ...
What do you want to fish for?
Please remember that there is a BIG fluke tournnament this weekend (Pt. Pleasant Elks). So be aware that a couple hundred boats will be in the Manasquan Inlet at 6:00AM waiting the start.
Tell me the species and I will hook you up ...

Hi Catfish,
Are you fishing the Pt. Pleasant Elks Fluke Tournament?
Thanks,
Ed

I think so

Catfish!!!!
I know some decent areas to fluke but... since I am in the toury myself, I am going to have to hold off on those numbers ;D ;D ;D
On the otherhand, I can tell you a general area to fish... Big Fish are being caught WEST, very far WEST... >:D >:D >:D
If you want, give me a call sometime and I will throw some info at ya!
"it aint easy being cheesy but i do a pretty good job!"

Hi Catfish,
Call me on the water (732) 859-1212 and I will help.
I am in the tournament also. It is hard to give a number when there is a large calcutta involved.
Here is a general overview.
There are fish being caught in the shallows 18-35' on high tide (move out a tad to get out of the way of seaweed on the low) near Bayhead and the Essex Sussex Hotel on Spring Lake. You will probably see 100s of boats in this area (if the weather cooperates).
Sharpies will be on the Sea Girt Reef (it is hard to give numbers for a reef - they are clearly marked on chartplotters aand maps). The Sea Girt Reef is about 4+ miles NE of the Manasquan Inlet.
There will also be people trying on the Axel Carlson Reef (about 6 miles to the SE of the Manasquan Inlet).
If you have the NJ Artificial Reef book, all is well.
Personal friends of mine plan to fish the Manasquan River. I cannot tolerate the wakes and noise and nonsense.
I will be fishing in 75+ ft. water east of the Manasquan Inlet.
I will tell you one place not to go. The graggers were at the Manasquan Ridge in force the past few days. I will avoid that place, even though I love to fish it.
Good luck,
Ed
