OMG..... I have no idea where all this Bunker came from in the last couple days......I have been out fishing the bay and have not seen anything......
Last night just before dark.....You could have walked on these schools they are that thick....They are way into the center of the bay.
I would think that the Blues and Weaks are strating to move in with these schools of Bunker...

The area I'm fishing right now is between the Toms River Bridge and the Mantoloking Bridge.....which I would say is around the middle of the bay.
These Bunker come in every year and most of the time go unseen.....But after the the wind calms down you can hear them flipping on the surface.
We also have another spring time bass candy that most don't know about....The RED WORM hatch which will happen twice in the spring around the full moon in April....Water temp plays a part in this hatch.
When you see tons of birds working close to the water in the spring.....This is a great sign that the first RED WORM hatch took place.
This is when you can start fishing very small red and hot pink fly's or soft plastic baits....The Bass just go crazy and so do the Weakfish.
If your to look at a map from the Point Pleasant canal.....Down to the Barnegate Inlet....That is one big area to fish.....The funny part is that it all holds some of the best Bass,Weakfish,Bluefish and Fluke fishing we can ask for in the spring.....
Hope this helps some of you with fishing this spring.
