Title: Raritan Bay along the shore?
Post by: RON B on April 29, 2011, 08:19:01 AM
I would like to know if anyone could give me information on Raritan Bay surf fishing. I started fishing late last spring. I have been fishing along local beaches such as Union Beach, I have noticed the Striper bite has slowed (at least for me) and was wondering when do they start moving out to deeper water such as Sandy Hook Bay or the Ocean? Last year I was fishing in the early part of May (10th) when the Blues blitzed along Union Beach & for the most part the Bass was out to deeper water.

Thanks for information I have received from this site & any future information you can share.

I fish Cliffwood beach, The side that faces Keyport, right across from the Capt.John party boat. Any fish going up the Matawan creek must pass this spot. ;) ;)

I' certainly no expert on fishing the bay, but I do know they were catching bass at the spy house pier earlier in the week. (port monmouth)
