I am in charge of picking out where to go on my honeymoon next year. Any recommendations on places to go and why to go there would be appreciated! I do not want to go on a cruise. Every place I look at online looks the same, nothing has stood out yet.
o yeah, I got the okay to schedule a fishing trip for us on one of the days TT^

Hawaii. Nothing can match it TT^

Aruba. I had a great time there with my wife. Rent a Jeep for the week and explore the north side of the island. Some very good terrain to put a seasoned offroader to the test. Also a great way to explore the island w/o being on a tourist bus the whole time.
Hire a local with panga on the south side of the island for some bottom fishing. Reefs are a stones throw from the beach and loaded with fish.
If you do anything offshore, which is on the north side of the island, be prepared for rough water. A "good" day is 7-8 footers!!! because of a constant year round 25 knt wind.
Check the boat you plan on using personally, dont let the hotel book it for you. Wahoo are the main catch, with sails, marlin and blackfin tuna also.
Excellent restaraunts all over the island. Only downside is the nightlife was lacking. Not much going on. Its a laid back place not a party place. Bu then again, you'll be on your honeymoon......you may not need outsidde entertainment ::)

not sure if you can do Hawaii with your 5G budget..
-
12 hours.
6 to LA 2,500 miles over land
6 to HI 2,500k miles over water TT^
and you will need at least 2 weeks
-
that rules hawaii out... Sandals on the other hand looks like a great choice, its all inclusive.
-
where ever you go, allinclusive is the ONLY way to do it.
-
Hubby and I are going to Jamaica, Breezes Runaway Bay - all inclusive in November - basically its our honeymoon since we never took one. We've heard lots of great things about it...

Cabo San Lucas or Belize is where I'd go.
On my honeymoon back in September of 1986 we went to St. Thomas. Did a 1/2 trip where I caught a #216 blue marlin. Was back in St. Thomas in August 2005 and the place had changed for the worse. Did get out fishing, real slow day as all my son and I got was a lone #12 blackfin tuna.
One thing you might want to consider is doing a little research on what specie(s) are available in the locals you are considering for that time of year. As some places might not have that great a fishery during the time of your honeymoon.
