Title: Out with the old......

in with the new.  This thing has been on the outs for over a year!! Water dripping off a bait table certainly has taken its toll. 
   My 5 yr old has been with me most times out this year so playing it safe. Beating the solenoid with a hammer just wasnt cutting it anymore  ::)
  Gonna open it up tommorrow at work, curious to see how bad the solenoid and armature look.

Was she cored?..  she will be rebuilt and live a new day on a new boat..

Just pulled it apart. Solenoid contacts were wiped. Armature and brushes didnt look too bad although water defintely got in.  No core, I bought new.  I guess I can now leave the "starter persuader"  aka Hammer, in the tool box  ;D

Nah, defintely not.  My schedule more than anything kkeps me from calling peeps. I tend to get  last minute stuff going.
   Truth be told, I aint kidding ya when I call her a P.O.S!  Got her in '98 for practically nothing. Did a little work, and made best fishing use out of cruiser that I can.  A little embarrassed since most guys run some real nice rigs here. But hey, I do what I can!!   Some day I'll plunk the $$$ on a center console. Someday.......  ;D

I was going to ask what that was...since I know absolutely nothing about boats...but then I saw the starter persuader, aka Hammer...and figured it out.

Looks like a good time to change it!  ;D
