With dismal bass reports decided to sneak off for an inshore bft trip. Left at about 1 pm and headed for the mud. Caught one fish around 30 inches and then things got quiet for a while. Kept looking and came tight on a double header of bigger fish that ate sterling tackle mini spreader bars - one purple and one zucchini. Lost one at the boat and got the other one - 45" cfl fish. Pulled the lines at 5 pm and made the bumpy ride back to the barn. God bless our troops.

Nice Chris.. Nothing on the jig or Chunk?

We didn't try - didn't even have bait on the boat. I had planned to bass fish and this was a last minute decision. No good marks on the sounder except for when we had the double header - then the fish were stacked under the boat.
