Left the Marina at 5:30am and headed for the deep Channel. Dropped a Line at 6:15 and before I could get another baited I had one on and it made the Box. Three more drifts over the same Area only gave up shorts so after the Big Rigs made there way through I headed right down the middle. I could not keep my hooks baited fast enough and after 2 drifts had 5 more in the Box and probable 15 throwbacks. Tried a slightly different angle as the tide started to Run faster and finished off a limit be 9:30. Threw back the smallest one still alive and continued to look for Moby but it didn't happen. Headed in at 11:00 and was home and all cleaned up by 1:00pm. Used Squid/Smelt combo and Bunker strips with peanuts. It didn't seem to matter once the bite turned on it was drop and reel.

Good news when the fish hit.
What marina did you leave from? 45 min to what deep channel? I always assume Sandy Hook as I am a SH snob I guess! :P

Sounds like a great time. Glad someone was on the fluke. You fishing 14 miles out from the hook or 14 from Keyport?

Either way it is a long walk for me.
