Title: DnR Boats customer service!!!!!
Post by: Ruger314 on March 28, 2007, 07:40:10 PM
Just wanted to let the fellow fishermen and boating world of New Jersey what you're going to get for your dollar! I purchase a brand new Robalo from this dealer and have been treat like trash..Not only do they show no respect to their customers but the the service and advice sucks..I believe that the public should be aware how  poorly you are treated once the paper is signed and the boat is picked up..I will never advise any to do business with this dealer ever.. More to come if needed..

It sad when you spend hard earn money and they treat you this poorly!!

I really want people to know how poorly they treat you!! I have spent alot of $$$ in that Dealer on supplies and have been treated like dirt. They look at you only as money, especially when you boat needs to be serviced. I would like to inform every about Port Monmouth Marine.. New Topc!!!

I had the same experience from the same place.  Last year Cody Marina winterized my boat.  When I went to pick it up, the wheel jack was broken.  I told them to replace it and then they wanted to charge me.  I said wtf...  I told them they broke it.  They said that I can't prove it.  I told them that the way they move the boats around the yard, they never lift the jack up, they take the fork lift with the ball on the blade and move it around that way, then when they put it down, they drop in on the wheel jack.  Those wheel jack aren't made to take that kinda pounding, especially on a 26' boat.  I told them that if they are going to cry over a $75.00 wheel jack after I just spent over $80 K the year before for the boat, then about $500.00 that day to winterize it, I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE AND TAKE OTHER PEOPLE WITH ME.  They finally replaced it after an hour with the manager..  NEVER AGAIN.

Also.  Last summer I needed a part.  It took 6 weeks to come in.  What the hell is with that..

there arent many honest places out there anymore ,I just bought my boat from lighting jacks in brick and they seem to be very good so far ,this weekend I had a kink in the gas line and ran out of fuel in the river in 30 mph winds so I called them and after I got done ranting and telling everyone off they talked me through the problem.every time I talk to them it has been good so far

I think that a lot of these places that were your mom and pop dealers years age have sold out and retired leaving the new owners, who are only out for the money. Plus with the influx of tons of people to the shore area has caused the attitude of many dealers and crafts people alike to think that if they want the product they will HAVE to come regardless of how I treat them.

I have been in the Toms River area for over 40 years and have seen this happen over and over again.  It is sad but we keep putting up with it because we have no choice in many cases.  Maybe it is time for a change.  SPORTSMEN UNITE. (sorry).  We as a group might have more clout than many people think.

The word is a powerful thing and just by voicing our opinions here is a good thing.

Thanks for the information, now we have to let the dealers know some how that the word is spreading.

Maybe just maybe things will slowly start to change.   Who knows... :'(

Ruger314,
I would write a letter to D&R boatworld C/O either : Robert or Donald Barone.
They are the President & Vice President.
I have known both of these gentlemen for a long time and I think they would be very interested in hearing your complaints.
I had one bad experience with one salesman a few years back and made it known to Robert Barone. That salesman is no longer with them.Robert was glad that I told him about this person.
