Post by: Mitlorp on January 11, 2012, 08:41:34 AM
Went for a late night session hoping to catch one of those 2012 stripers!  End up catching my first Sundial.  Don't much about the fish.  Are these little guys any good? nts

I myself haven't had any to eat but it is a flounder (windowpane) . Most are very small and thin but there are no regs on them so try em for yourself. I have used them for bait for fluke , stripped up of course and have caught many fluke on em for years.

They are edible if you get enough.
Sundial- paper thin, mouth is larger then a winter flounder but smaller then a fluke. they are also more of a circular shape and caught mostly in the surf.
This should help

Ive eaten quite a few of these guys man they are tasty just like any other flounder and they have about 1/4 inch or so thick fillets that are really good
