Ended up buying a c.c. with 2003 Evinrude 225 on it. About how often should I changed the water pump, and 2 thermostats? chrz

On my old 225 I did them all once a year--Did the water pump when changing lower unit oil--And carry spare stats.

Soon. Thanks! clp

Since it is new to you I would replace them now. Unless the seller has proof that he just did it. slt

That's my plan. New Thermostats, lower unit oil, Water pump, Spark Plugs, batterys also.

After starting with your new parts this season, I would change the thermostats, oils, filters,& spark plugs every year, and rebuild the water pump every other year. <'((((><

I flush the motor with fresh water after each use ,with the gas hose disconnected .Until it runs out've gas and die's .I do both the pump and tstats every other year .Never had a problem .I'll Ask the mechanic how the looked and he always replys that they looked good .
