Johnny Oz and I took a ride to the boat today to get a few odds n ends done. After completion we went to the Belmar Municipal Marina.
Checked out the fuel dock. :P
The gasoline was posted at $4.10 a gallon. Mind you, this is 89 octane not 87 (regular gas) but still, that's a big chunk of change. I don't even want to know what it will be come the summer months. cfzd
Drove down to the south end of the marina to check out the progress on redoing of the boat ramp. It is coming along great. Was told by the job foreman that they will be done in plenty of time for it to be used when the fishing season gets underway.
Saw a dozen guys on the dock fishing for winter flounder. Watched four flounder get caught (and released) in the very short time we were there.
Only a few things need to be done to the Irish Ayes before it will be ready for the season. With the weather the way it has been it should be a great year for fishing.
Best of luck to all this year. chrz

Ugh is right! Looks like I will be investing in a few 10gal gas cans and taking advantage of the $0.10 discount I get at Crystal Point.

Thanks for the heads up. I will check into that for sure.

Yeah Fred, be careful. Sam at Brown's Point told me that's just about the only rule that he has zero tolerance on.

Dont let them catch you with bait not purchased from them either."I was told they do not like that" The gas can thing is most likely in your contract and a big insurance risk.

Yeah they dont like you buying bait elsewhere....Doesnt bother me becuase generally they have the best bait and the prices are good... this past season at fall hi mar we had lined up our clams (4 bushels) from another shop... last minute they fell through... I called bob at kmb the night before the tournament.... Went there the following day he found 4 bushels from 2 different bait guys and still cut me a break on the price lol
-
There prices are pretty good, but i can understand the gas thing but bait??
-
Joe,
I'm sure you will have your share of quality catches this year. Hope to see you on the outside at the snake. We talked about getting out on each others rigs. Let's make it happen this season. Here's to a productive year on the Irish Ayes chrz

Yeah Jeff, we have to make it happen this year. t^

Good to see others like you Joe were able to get a jump on the season. I too took a ride to check things out at some local marinas.
