I had cabin fever today and had to get out to do some scouting. With the lack of storms this winter the beaches look great. Many have widened out and the cuts and troughs are easy to spot. If you need a refresher read my article :"Reading the Beach".
There should be some great fishing this spring as the waters are warming up and the fish are out there already. As far as baits to use if you are going to get out, well all I can say is call ahead to see what the B&T's have. I have heard that Grumpy's and Betty & Nicks will have a limited supply of bunker for this coming week. Other than that artificials will work just fine, but, remember to fish them slower that normal.
It looks like the jetties are the catching spots as are some of the inlets. Just waiting to hear more reliable reports and I will be out at the north jetty of IBSP with the bucktails flying.
All my rods and reels have been cleaned and ready to go, I might put some new line on 2 of my go to set ups. But, all in all I am ready for the season to begin.
Happy Catching
Paul

I'm gonna start poking around in the backbays this week.
Stocked up on plugs, got a new rod/reel and everything is ready to go.

Go for it Chris. I have gotten so busy this week and into next week by the time I get the chance to get out it will probably snow... fcp
