Title: Spring Stripers
Post by: PHIL on March 20, 2012, 11:27:53 AM
Friend of mine told me yesterday bass fishing in Raritan is hot right now. True? I fish out of Manasquan. Any reports of bass coming in this early by me?

I havent seen any MI reports yet, Phil. With the temps/weather the way it has been I am sure it won't be long before the bass are out front.

After several years of trying intermittently, I have never had any success with bass in the back in the manasquan area early in the season.  Best wait till they're out front, which shouldn't be to long at all...

Have you ever tried by the railroad bridge? I saw some guys killing them last year on worms. I am sure they were resident fish but, they did great.

Can't say I have.  Usually, by the time the boat is in the water, I'm on to winter flounder or jigging out front.  Thanks for the advice though, I'll definitely give it a try if I have some time at night.
